AEO for Agencies and Professional-Services Firms

Last updated October 14, 2026. Written by the Third Coast AI team.

Third Coast AI delivers AEO and GEO work under your agency's name, or trains your team to run the method yourselves, so you can answer the client who asks "why doesn't ChatGPT mention us?" with a real program instead of a shrug. The white-label option covers the visibility audit, content briefs and publish gate, entity work and prompt-level verification, delivered in your templates and presented by you. The training option is a working engagement on one of your own clients, after which your team has the prompt bank, the miner workflow, the gate checklist and the reporting format. Pricing is quoted after a short scoping call.

We built this because we run the same method every week for clients of our own, and the agency problem is familiar: clients are asking, the tools produce a score without a plan, and the people who can read those searches and turn it into a brief are scarce. The same is true inside law firms, accounting firms and consultancies, where the marketing director has been handed AI search as a project and nobody has written down how to do it.

Why are agencies getting this question now?

Because the clients can see it. BrightEdge's tracking now puts AI Overviews on nearly half of Google queries, and Semrush measured a 71% rise on commercial searches between November 2025 and April 2026, and Pew's July 2025 study measured click-through falling from 15% to 8% when an AI summary is present. A client who has watched rankings hold steady while leads soften will eventually type their own category into ChatGPT, see three competitors, and call you. Agencies that can only answer with a rank tracker are exposed in that conversation.

The harder issue is that the SEO playbook does not transfer cleanly. Ahrefs measured the overlap between Google's top ten and AI Overview citations at 38% in March 2026, down from 76% eight months earlier, and Kirsten and colleagues found that 53% of the domains cited in AI Overviews were not in Google's organic top ten for the same query, and 40% were outside the top 100. Good SEO is still the foundation, and it is no longer the whole job.

Can you walk through what white-label delivery includes?

The agencies that will do well at this are the ones already good at writing. The method is learnable in a month. What takes years is knowing how to say something true about a client in a way that is specific enough to quote.

Third Coast AI

Does the training cover the tools?

Yes. We work in PromptWatch and Profound for tracking and in our own miner for the retrieval-on runs, and the training covers how to use whichever of those you adopt, how to build a prompt bank that holds up, how to read a hidden-search captures, how to run a proof audit, how to write a brief from a citation read, and how to run the gate. We also cover the parts that are easy to get wrong: Aurora Intelligence's finding that single-snapshot tracking is unreliable, the Zhang and Yao result that bolted-on Q&A formatting reduces absorption by about 5.7%, and the list of practices that draw Google manual actions, such as self-promotional listicles and scaled AI-generated pages.

By the end of the engagement your team has run the loop once on a real client, with us reviewing each step, and you own the templates.

Is this relevant to a law firm or an accounting firm?

Very. Professional-services buyers ask the engines exactly the kind of question the method is built for: "Which employment lawyers in Grand Rapids handle non-compete disputes?" "Who should a dental practice use for a cost-segregation study?" The decision factors the engines use for those prompts are specific (practice focus, named attorneys, case types, credentials, fee transparency, location), and most firm websites describe themselves in general terms that do not supply them. For a firm, we typically run the audit on two or three practice groups, write the decision-factor pages with the partners, and build the entity record around the named professionals as well as the firm, since the engines resolve both.

Compliance matters here. Nothing we write makes a claim a bar association or licensing body would object to, every page is reviewed by the responsible partner, and the entity work is limited to accurate profiles and real coverage.

Will our clients know you are involved?

Only if you want them to. White-label means your templates, your name and your presentation. Some agencies prefer to introduce us as a specialist partner, which is also fine. Either way we do not contact your clients, we do not list them, and the engagement is covered by a mutual non-disclosure agreement. .

Frequently asked questions

Do you work with agencies that compete with each other?

Yes. We work with agencies anywhere in the country, and the non-disclosure agreement covers client lists in both directions, so what we learn on one agency's accounts stays with that agency. If a direct conflict comes up on a specific client, we raise it with you before the work starts rather than after.

Can we resell the audit at our own price?

Yes. You set the client price. We charge you a wholesale fee per audit or a monthly retainer for ongoing work, and the deliverables come in your templates.

How long does training take?

One real engagement, usually six to eight weeks from prompt bank to first verification run, followed by 90 days of coaching while your team runs the next one on their own.

Which tools do we need?

A tracking tool (PromptWatch or Profound are the two we use), access to ChatGPT and Gemini with retrieval on, and a way to log prompts and answers. We show you how we run our own miner and what the alternatives are.

Do you write the content too?

We can, through the same writers who run the GEO content program, or your writers can work from our briefs through our publish gate. Most agencies start with our writers and move to their own after a quarter.

Is there a minimum commitment?

Per-engagement audits have no minimum. White-label content and entity retainers run six months, then month to month. Training is a single engagement plus the 90-day support window.
